The high altitude region of Nepal has a deep relationship with Cashmere. From the harsh winters of the Himalayas we get the finest fiber in the world - Cashmere. Cashmere is also a source of income for farmers in Nepal. Until now Cashmere production in the mountains of Nepal hasn’t taken a strong hold due to, stiff competition from China where 90% of world’s Cashmere comes from but, with little bit more effort and care from buyers around the world, Cashmere can be a huge source of income for the mountain goat herders of Nepal who usually live under the poverty line. Cashmere can and will uplift thousands of people from poverty.
